Join us for a special Saturday morning work party. Leave your pruners at home! Work will focus on deadheading, by hand, the rhododendrons and azaleas in the Tom Kubota Stroll Garden. Come dressed to get muddy, wear sturdy boots, and wear rain gear if necessary. Water bottles are good too! Meet at the entrance gate and then walk down together to the work area. Don't be late!

COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS

By appointment only, no more than 10 volunteers for this event.
-Volunteers must be cleared for symptoms of COVID-19 and have no fever before they are allowed in the crew quarters building.
-Face coverings and gloves are mandatory. medium.com...
-Individuals shall be spaced more than 6 feet apart while working and also spaced at least 6 feet away from garden visitors passing by
-Volunteers are encouraged to bring hand tools and gloves from home - no sharing.
-No food sharing.

The Kubota Garden Foundation, founded in 1988, is a non-profit corporation that was established to support, enhance, and perpetuate the Kubota Garden within the spirit of Fujitaro Kubota.

Description

The Kubota Garden Foundation (KGF) is a non-profit 501(c3) organization formed in 1989 to continue a partnership with the City and assure the preservation of the entire 20-acre garden as envisioned by the Kubota family. With the support of staff, KGF volunteers implement many programs and projects: conduct tours, greet visitors, help with garden maintenance, and organize publicity and capital projects to build special garden features such as the Terrace Overlook. Working with partner organizations, volunteers implement free cultural and educational events.
