In the Mission Fed JA Finance Park, High school students are taught personal finance curriculum in class that culminates in a visit to our Mission Fed JA Finance Park facility in Mission Valley. Volunteers guide groups of 8-12 students through the adult life simulation, where students learn to budget, save, and spend for themselves and their virtual families.
Important Volunteer Details:
- Time Commitment: 5.5 hours (roughly)
- Start Time: 8:00am (varies)
- End Time: 1:30pm (varies)
- Location: Junior Achievement of San Diego County, 4756 Mission Gorge Place, San Diego, CA 92120
- 1 hour volunteer training takes place before student arrival
Volunteer Role:
- Lead a group of 8-12 students through the tablet-based simulation
- Monitor students' progress
- Facilitate discussion

Junior Achievement of San Diego and Imperial Counties is a non-profit organization that has been educating K - 12 students about entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy since 1950. We use experiential, hands-on programs to help students understand and master the knowledge and skills they'll need as adults; how to manage money, how to get a job and how to start a business.
