Volunteer today and make a difference in the community!

DRMAC Rides is assembling a team of volunteers to transport young adults with disabilities who cannot drive themselves and we need you! Help them increase their independence by providing rides to various social activities, sporting events, and appointments.

This new program in Arapahoe County is one of the first of its kind to support young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to find free rides to events that keep them active and social. We already have an amazing cast of magnanimous volunteers but we need more drivers so we can keep up with the demand of ride requests. Similar to Uber and Lyft, the drivers use their own vehicles to drive individuals who have barriers accessing the community, and in doing so, help free up their parent's agendas by providing them a break from their usual chauffeur duties.

You don't need to have any experience working with disabled individuals because we provide free training and support. We offer flexible scheduling that allows you to decide when and where you are able to drive and we will work around your schedule. We also offer mileage reimbursement and all the warm fuzzy feelings that come along with making a difference.

To qualify, we ask that you have a reliable vehicle and the ability to pass a motor vehicle record and background check. If you or someone you know may be interested, please contact the volunteer manager via email at rides@drmac-co.org or via phone at (720) 665-5656 or you can visit www.drmac-co.org/volunteer to learn more.
