Participants in New Door's Employment Program overcome barriers to work and master skills for their next job, which includes graduating with a detailed resume. Help at-risk youth prepare for their future by reviewing their resumes. You'll work one-on-one with a young person to improve their resume and get it ready to submit with to prospective employers. No need to prepare anything - just bring your energy and willingness to help a young person!

This two-hour commitment can deeply impact a young person, helping to improve their professional skills and confidence. We'd love to have your help!

Mission Statement

New Door's mission is to prepare opportunity youth for work and life, by providing the jobs, training, education, and support they need to discover and achieve their potential so that they can transition to independent adulthood. Our vision is a world where all young people can successfully transition to independent adulthood.

Description

New Door Ventures is an early intervention Employment and Education Program for Bay Area transition age youth (TAY) youth ages 16-24 who are disconnected from or weakly connected to work and school. Our mission is to prepare TAY for work and life, by providing the jobs, training, education, and support they need to discover and achieve their potential so that they can transition to independent adulthood. With our hundreds of partners, we strive to help young people trapped in cycles of intergenerational poverty and racial inequity attain meaningful employment and academic success. Our program supports BIPOC and low-income TAY with a comprehensive approach: skills training in small, balanced youth cohorts; meaningful paid internships with one of our 100+ diverse community employment partners, with placements reflecting youth interests and capabilities; 1:1 case management; innovative youth compensation structure; support service referrals; opportunities for placement in living wage-track jobs.
