Volunteers are needed to serve as an (ombudsman) advocate for local nursing home and assisted living residents. The goal of the ombudsman program is to ensure the best possible quality of life in Texas long-term care facilities. While in the facility, the volunteer will talk to residents, family members, guests to idenity any complaints or problem areas. Then, the volunteer will work with those individuals and the staff to resolve these issues. Ombudsman also provide information about rights and procedures and help identify additional resources in or out of the facility. Locations in Atascosa County are Campbellton, Charlotte, Christine, Jourdanton, Leming, Lytle, McCoy, Peggy, Pleasanton and Poteet. Your personal touch is needed to develop a rapport with the residents and staff to promply identify problems and resolve them. All you need is a caring heart and willingness to make a difference.
