ORGANIZATION: Taller San Jose Hope Builders

Purpose/Objective: The Youth Event Coordinator will organize, plan, and conduct engaging events for Hope Builders participants. The Youth Event Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating events for trainees that will promote unity and community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Hope Builders program’s staff to plan, organize and conduct events for Hope Builders participants
  • Develop and implement events in efforts to keep Hope Builders participants engaged with staff and maintain sense of a community
  • Integrate Hope Builders mission through fun, safe and quality events for Hope Builders participants

Qualifications:

  • Experience in event planning and coordination (1 year+)
  • Experience working with youth (18-25) (preferred)
  • Ability to travel and conduct events on-site and off-site

Time Commitment:

  • We ask for a commitment of 6 months
  • Schedule will be set once discussed (flexible)

Please be aware: Business hours are 8am-4:30pm

  • Youth events may occur after business hours or weekends

Training and Support:

  • Orientation to Hope Builders
  • Introduction to program cohorts
  • Ongoing supervision from Volunteer Coordinator
  • Additional help can be provided upon request

These workforce training skills are coupled with intensive job coaching activities from resume writing to job retention strategies and is reinforced with life skills instruction in financial literacy, healthy relationships, and numerous other personal development topics.
