UniversalGiving is an award-winning website allowing people to donate and volunteer with top performing vetted projects all over the world. UniversalGiving Corporate provides strategy, operations, and NGO vetting to scale companies’ CSR programs in more than 120 countries. The Marketing Intern will be responsible for a variety of projects including writing, online research, media relations, and social media outreach. You will gain practical, real-world experience through developing critical marketing partnerships, managing social media platforms, and publishing our e-newsletter. The ideal candidate is ready to support our mission and get the word out about international giving and volunteering.


As a UniversalGiving intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse, passionate team representing over 25 cultures. Our work culture is fast-paced and entrepreneurial, yet collaborative and fun including monthly potlucks and team events. Responsibilities:

  • Research and outreach to develop critical marketing partnerships

  • Prepare for CEO’s speaking engagements, conferences, and events

  • Execute on the University Outreach program by emailing, making phone calls and sending materials to various universities to increase brand awareness about UniversalGiving

  • Manage social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest

  • Research and market to target celebrities

  • Draft content for online communication including newsletter and blog posts

  • Maintain important relationships/communications history in Salesforce Database

  • Provide administrative support as needed


With proven track record

  • Special projects as needed on an on-going basis


Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Team player, but also has the ability to work independently

  • Demonstrated interest in the field of PR, communications, or marketing

  • Strong familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest)

  • Computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Commitment to using and updating Salesforce, our Relationship Database

5CF Interest in nonprofit work, international issues, and philanthropy

  • Full support of the mission and vision of UniversalGiving

Duration: Minimum 15-20 hours per week required for the duration of the internship, at least a minimum of 3 to 4 months. Ideal candidates are available to work out of our San Francisco office 3-4 days/week (Monday through Friday).
