ORGANIZATION: Brigade Boys & Girls Club

Firemen helping spread Mulch

Brigade Boys & Girls Club needs help to spread mulch throughout our Playground in order to provide a safer environment in which our Club members play. Volunteers would spend the morning spreading mulch and potentially helping with other landscaping/outdoor cleaning needs.

Volunteers should wear sunscreen, hats, closed-toed shoes, gloves and bring landscaping tools like shovels, wheelbarrows and rakes.

Description

The Brigade Boys & Girls Club has been serving the Wilmington community for the past 113 years. The Club serves approximately 2,300 youth per year, ages 5-18, in New Hanover and Pender counties, and youth ages 5-14 in Onslow County

The Club provides diversified activities that meet the interest of all young people. Core programs encourage activities with adults, peers and family members that enable kids to enhance self-esteem and fulfill their potential. The Club offers program activities in five areas: Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, The Arts and Sports, Fitness & Recreation.
