LexiCon 2018 is a FREE comic-con and fandom event intended to draw together community members who share similar interests and to provide library materials to those who enjoy pop culture.
LexiCon is only possible due to volunteers so we are always looking for more people to help us make the convention a more smooth and memorable one.There are a variety of reasons to volunteer. The biggest reason being you want to help make Lexicon better, but maybe you just want to interact with like-minded people who share the same interests you do. Whatever your reason, Lexicon has a place for you.
Here are some of the areas in which you can volunteer:- Admin (staffing, manning operations room, gopher as needed)
- Arts/Crafts
- ConOps (room security, events security, general security)
- Events (events, panels, and judging)
- Gaming (staff video gaming and board gaming rooms)
- Information & Registration (Welcome
- Tech (audio video and other technical setup/support aspects)
- Vendors (work with professional merchants and artists alley)
- Wherever (for those who don't have a preference)
Requirements for volunteering:
- be at least 16 years old
- submit completed volunteer staffing application (Form available at http://library.stillwater.org/lexicon.php)
- volunteers under 18 years old must submit a signed parental consent form before staff badge can be retrieved
- work a minimum of 2 hours during the convention (We would prefer a 4 hour commitment)

Satisfaction of helping the library put on a great event!

- Recognizing and stimulating volunteers so that long-term commitments are maintained.
- Enhancing library services without relying on volunteers to supplant necessary paid positions.
- Giving community volunteers opportunities to use their experience and expertise to communicate and to help implement community needs.
