We are looking for volunteers to help us with the 10,000 Scoop Challenge, coming to San Antonio on Thursday, June 7 from 11:00am-3:00pm at the Main Plaza. The 10,000 Scoop Challenge is a fun, community event put on by Denali Flavors, the developers of the legendary Moose Tracks ice cream. During a 4-hour window, Denali Flavors challenges the San Antonio community to eat FREE Moose Tracks frozen yogurt for a cause. For each scoop of frozen yogurt served, Moose Tracks will donate $1 to The Salvation Army of San Antonio in hopes of raising $10,000 in just four hours to help fund ongoing community projects. That’s a ton of frozen yogurt! It’s a fun, outdoor event and we need your help! Volunteers will be scooping frozen yogurt, handing scoopers ice cream cones/napkins, dispersing flyers, handing out moose hats, working the prize wheel and ensuring event-goers are having FUN! We are also looking for a volunteer to help by being the Moose mascot for the day!
Volunteers needed for the following positions:
SET UP - typically would like about 5 volunteers from 8-10 a.m.
- Setting up tents
- Filling up water donuts (weights for signage)
- Setting up directional signs/finding a good place to put them to drive foot traffic
- Setting up tables with water dishes/scoops/napkins
- Setting up hand washing station
EVENT DURATION - typically would like about 12-15 volunteers per hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Scooping/filling in spots when we don’t have celebrity scoopers
- Handing cones to celebrity scoopers
- Handing out handbills to drive foot traffic to the event
- Handing out Moose antlers
- Handing out Moose Tracks key chains
- Cleaning scooping areas/tables
- Manning the hand washing station/prepping celebrity scoopers
- Coordinating celebrity scooper transitions (we will help with this, but volunteers can make sure they have water, aren't too tired, etc.)
- Manning "free ice cream" signs (this can be done in pairs)
TEAR DOWN - typically would like about 5 volunteers from 3-4 p.m.
- Taking down tents/putting them correctly into shipping bins
- Emptying water donuts/breaking down signage
- Retrieving directional signage
- Taking down tables and placing materials into shipping bins
