J.U.M.P. (www.jumpinc.org), in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster (www.bgcfl.org), is running an afterschool program 1 day per week., typically from 4-5 pm. The volunteer would be part of a 2 person team to take boys and girls grades 4-6 on nature walks within the Doyle Center trail network (http://www.thetrustees.org/places-to-visit/central-ma/doyle-reservation.html#t1) adjacent to the club on Lindell Ave in Leominster. Emphasis is put on enjoying the outdoors and getting some exercise. We have an education director that provides structure to the hike so the volunteer role would be to keep the kids safe during the 45-60 minute walk on the trail. Training and certification in First Aid and CPR, are supplied.
Just bring your smile and your hiking footwear. Getting kids outside and active in a natural environment away from social media is a much needed gift you can give today.
Changing the outcomes for this disadvantaged population starts here!
Opportunities exist at the Leominster and Gardner Boys & Girls Club Locations as well as Harvard, MA
