In FY22, local Harvesters food drives helped provide 2,950,648 meals to our neighbors. Harvesters is seeking volunteer drivers to assist with dropping off donation barrels and picking up food donations throughout the Kansas City metro.

Volunteer once a week for a 4-5 hour shift. This is a weekly commitment, so volunteers are asked to select one day a week for six months.

Key responsibilities include:

• Pick up van keys and donation orders
• Drop off donation barrels
• Pick up food donations
• Sometimes unload donations
• Park van and return keys to the Community Engagement department

Please note the following requirements:

Basic Requirements

• Must be 21 years old
• Pass a background check
• Have a clean driving record
• Have a commitment to the mission of Harvesters
• Adhere to all Harvesters’ food safety policies

Physical

• Able to drive an 8-person passenger van
• Able to drive long distances
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly

Soft Skills

• Able to effectively communicate and interact with Harvesters’ staff, restaurant donors, agency partners, and other volunteers
• Have a strong attention to detail and have good organizational skills
