Help us plan fun pet adoption events at the shelter and appreciate our fosters and volunteers! Our events team volunteer opportunity assists the Community Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator to plan animal shelter events to promote adoptable pets!
We plan monthly adoption specials and decorate the shelter, we have quarterly adoption events, we have an annual community appreciation day event in April, we have a Foster Brunch in the spring, and a Volunteer Appreciation banquet in the fall each year.
If you enjoy event planning, organizing, and promoting, this team is for you! We welcome individuals with experience and we welcome those that are interested in learning more about event planning! Event team volunteers must have availability to meet monthly. Meeting times varies and can be discussed at your meet and greet.
Orientation and background screening is required of all our volunteers. You must be 18 years of age.

Mission Statement
Osceola County Animal Services is a government operated animal shelter and field services program. Our focus is on education and working with our community to provide life saving programs and services.
Description
Giving hands on care to animals, educating our community, providing administrative support, and more, volunteers improve the lives of the animals in our care every day. We understand that life is busy and by you taking the time to help animals at this shelter, we will be able to save more lives and reach more people. Our gratitude is only surpassed by our enthusiasm to build a successful and comprehensive volunteer program.
We want your experience to be both rewarding and challenging. We provide the training for all volunteer and foster care positions; therefore, no prior experience is required. Due to the amount of training we require for most of our volunteer positions, we ask for a 6 month commitment working 8 hours per month. Volunteers can either come in for a regularly scheduled reoccurring shift on the same day and time each week or schedule their shifts through our online volunteer scheduling system each month. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Pet foster parents must be 18 years of age.
