Foster a Litter of Kittens!

We are in need of Kitten Foster Parents at Osceola County Animal Services! Our foster application and online training module is available at www.osceolacountypets.com. Click on the Volunteer tab at the top and then "Foster an Animal".

Foster parents save lives by caring for animals in their own homes. We supply all the supplies, food, and medical care for the foster babies. You supply the love, a safe place, and the dedication to care for these little bundle of joys!

Kittens eating on their own, bottle feeding kittens, and mommas with kittens are the most common foster need we have at the shelter. Time commitment varies depending on the animal but typically is between 2 weeks - 2 months per litter.

Once the kittens are 2 lbs and at least 8 weeks old, they are ready for their spay/neuter surgery and adoption! Won't you help save the lives of kittens in need? We love our foster family and depend on them to help us save lives!

Mission Statement

Osceola County Animal Services is a government operated animal shelter and field services program. Our focus is on education and working with our community to provide life saving programs and services.

Description

Giving hands on care to animals, educating our community, providing administrative support, and more, volunteers improve the lives of the animals in our care every day. We understand that life is busy and by you taking the time to help animals at this shelter, we will be able to save more lives and reach more people. Our gratitude is only surpassed by our enthusiasm to build a successful and comprehensive volunteer program.

We want your experience to be both rewarding and challenging. We provide the training for all volunteer and foster care positions; therefore, no prior experience is required. Due to the amount of training we require for most of our volunteer positions, we ask for a 6 month commitment working 8 hours per month. Volunteers can either come in for a regularly scheduled reoccurring shift on the same day and time each week or schedule their shifts through our online volunteer scheduling system each month. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Pet foster parents must be 18 years of age.
