"I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder County is having their Annual Boulder County Dreamer Scholar Conference on Thursday, June 7, 2018 in Lafayette! We need volunteers!

This event brings together all of the organization's Dreamer Scholars, aging from 2nd graders to seniors in high school. They will be having a day full of sports, science, and art activities!

We are in need of 3-6 volunteers to lead our soccer stations. It will be two, 50-minute shifts, with a wide range of ages and abilities. There will be between 15 and 25 students per shift. (Alternative volunteer opportunities available, too!)

If you have a passion for soccer, experience working with youth in sports, and are available for the day of June 7th, please let us know! The timeframe is from 8:30am to 1pm.

Mission: To empower children from low-income communities to succeed in school, college, and career by providing academic, social, and emotional support from elementary school through college, along with a post-secondary tuition assistance scholarship. Vision: Our dream is a world where all children have equal access to the educational and career opportunities that will ignite their innate potential.

Description

Since 1990, IHDF Boulder County has served more than 1,000 local youth, and currently has 12 active Dreamer Scholar Classes. The model, with its one-on-one attention and daily programming, has proven to narrow the opportunity gap. Dreamer Scholars graduate from high school, enroll in post-secondary programming, and complete their post-secondary education at much higher rates than their low-income peers.
