Volunteer - Preschool Classroom

We have 22 locations in 9 counties in Ohio. We are always looking for caring individuals to volunteer at our learning centers.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide comfort and care for preschool children, and provide support to staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry forth the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the agency.
- Provide general classroom help.
- Interact with individual or small groups of children on the children’s level.
- Replenish art supplies, print photographs, and cut out materials for projects.
- Organize cabinets, prepare set-up for afternoon activities.
- Clean cots, wash toys, take out trash, sweep floors, do laundry.
- Work with children during play.
- Complete in-kind forms to document your valuable contribution to our Head Start/Early Head Start programs.
- Communicate all necessary information to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas for families and staff.
- Adhere to all agency and program policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Work Experience Required: Not applicable.
2. Education and Training: Not applicable.
3. Special Conditions: Must be able to lift 40 pounds, bend, kneel and sit on floor for extended periods of time. Hours will vary based on assignment. Must meet JFS requirements for physical and immunizations (Agency will reimburse up to $50 in costs incurred after submitted to your insurer and EOB provided), fingerprints and background check (completed at Agency expense with a copy provided to you), and references.
