Change a life through technology - teach seniors how to use computers!
18 people are interested
Many older adults in the Bay Area can't access vital resources because they have not had the chance to join the digital world. We need YOU to help these adults connect with family and access information by teaching them how to use technology and the internet.
Only basic computer skills needed. What is more important is that you are patient, friendly, and interested in supporting seniors!
This opportunity is specifically for the computer lab in the gorgeous Aquatic Park Senior Center, but there are additional opportunities around San Francisco!
What you will do:
- Attend a 2-hour training at the CTN offices
- Commit to a weekly tutoring shift
- Help a senior learn how to use their laptop, smartphone, tablet or e-reader
- Act as a resource and guide, helping them learn how to find resources and information
For more information and to join our volunteer family, please visit our website at http://communitytechnetwork.org/volunteer/ and complete our volunteer application.
Tutors must commit to one shift per week for at least two months. Shifts are approximately two hours, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00-4:00 pm. We especially need Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
We'll work with your schedule.
