Peer Educators teach older adults how to stay safe from Medicare fraud and identity theft. This is critical because seniors are targeted for these crimes more than any other age group. Peer Educators provide this important information either through presentations (which are provided) and/or handing out our literature at events that seniors attend. This information sharing is possible through funding for Ohio SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) provided by the Administration for Community Living. Ohio SMP is a project of Pro Seniors, a nonprofit organization providing free legal assistance to Ohioans age 60 and older.
Benefits that Peer Educators receive:
You participate in free online training.
You can choose a flexible schedule that meets your needs.
You receive continued education by email at least once a month to expand your knowledge.
You receive mileage reimbursement to cover your travel expenses.
You have minimal paperwork that is easy to complete.
You can contact Ohio SMP staff with questions that you can't answer. (You don't have to know everything!)
