The Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs is recruiting volunteers for The Chinatown Community Festival on July 7, 2018. The event features lively performances, cultural demos, arts & crafts and variety of street foods.
Volunteer Details:
Location: Chinatown Park, 5 th and I Street NW, Washington, DC (near Gallery Place/Chinatown metro station).
Time: 8 pm to 3 pm
General Roles: Set up before the event, decoration, registration, direct participants, manage lines at activity booths, and clean up.
*Both bilinguals and non-bilinguals are welcome.

Description
The Mayor's Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (MOAPIA) acts as a liaison between the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and the District government. MOAPIA assists constituents with accessing government services, conducts outreach to ensure that community member’s concerns are voiced and carried out, and provides materials in languages that are widely spoken in the API community. In addition, MOAPIA's subject matter liaison helps community members with more specific questions regarding economic development, education, employment, mental health, health and human services, housing, and safety issues.
