Get INVOLVED with the American Heart Association!
Passionate about health and fitness? Help the AHA educate the Inland NW community about heart-health and how to keep those risk factors for heart disease down!

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available. We are looking for a volunteer coordinator, community outreach volunteers, office volunteers, and event volunteers.

The volunteer coordinator would be in charge of all the volunteer recruitment and outreach, as well as, supervise and help current volunteers, and help keep all volunteer opportunities organized.

Community outreach volunteers would work to get connected with businesses, groups, and individuals in the community and get them involved with the events that the AHA puts on, as well as providing education to the community about health and the AHA resources.

Office volunteers will help in the office with paperwork, organizing and other office duties.

The event volunteers would help out with the numerous events that the AHA holds every year. The American Heart Association holds an annual Heart and Stroke Walk, and Go Red for Women Luncheon, as well as other events that can use volunteers for setting up, take down, and everything in between.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. That single purpose drives all we do. The need for our work is beyond question.

Heart disease and stroke remain major threats to the public health of our nation. These threats are expected to increase over the next 10 years.

Many of the key metrics in the 2010 goal of the American Heart Association were achieved early, including exceeding a 25% reduction in deaths from heart disease and stroke.

The 2020 strategic goal for the American Heart Association is to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20% while continuing to decrease deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20%.

Description

One of the American Heart Association key goals is to increase volunteer engagement by 25%.

Volunteers have been the lifeblood of the American Heart Association since its inception more than 80 years ago. That giving and selfless spirit continues today throughout all of our fundraising activities. You have a chance to help spread knowledge to Americans regarding their No. 1 health threat.

Year in and year out, our dedicated, committed and encouraging volunteers are the champions of behind our successes. These self-sacrificing volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization.
