A particularly wet section of the Appalachian Trail with decomposing wood structures will receive a longer term solution thanks to stone, which can last forever.
Join the Berkshire Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club on Saturday, June 9 as they place stepping stones in the ground for hikers to use. You don't have to get muddy if that isn't your thing! Be sure to wear sturdy boots, long pants and work gloves. Also, bring your own lunch, as well as personal snacks and water.
The group will meet at the Blotz Rd. Parking Lot in Dalton, MA on Saturday and will work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Please use this link ( https://goo.gl/forms/KJQ6ls71dOxnlKVA3 ) to register for the work trip.

Description
Appalachian Trail (A.T.) is a project built on civic engagement. It exists because people like you step up and help out in a variety of ways, outdoors or inside. Activities can be physical (such as Trail work or boundary maintenance), creative (like contributing photography or writing), or organizational (like planning or leading activities).
Volunteers gain new skills through their work. Whether you volunteer because you enjoy time in nature, want to forge new friendships, or appreciate having a deeper connection to a place you hold in high regard, we are glad you are here.
There are a variety of ways to contribute your talents and your time.
