About Sunset Point Camp
For nearly 100 years, Sunset Point Camp has provided a dream vacation at the seashore to over 40,000 low-income, at-risk children aged 6-13 from Greater Boston without regard for their race, nationality, or religious affiliation. Nearly 450 city-based boys and girls travel to Hull, Massachusetts each summer for a one or two week overnight camp experience letting them enjoy the fresh air, learn new talents, receive academic summer support and simply have fun.
A Whole Week to be a Kid
Campers are supervised and coached by a Camp Director, Program Director, kitchen staff, life guards, and nurses as they enjoy swimming, kayaking, paddle boats, arts and crafts, drama and other recreational activities. In addition, they are involved in a variety of programs designed around life-building skills promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and good health, while cultivating a sense of leadership, self-discipline and self-esteem. For a registration fee of just $25 per camper, a child receives transportation to from camp, three meals a day and snacks, overnight accommodation in the boys or girls bunkhouse, a full spectrum of recreational activities, and bus transportation during the week to Nantasket Beach and other locations.
Volunteering at Sunset Point CampVolunteers assist camp counselors in keeper our campers safe. This ranges from assisting in supervising beach trips, pool time, and providing instructions for games and other activities. Volunteers assist in the upkeep of the camp from keeping the bay area beach clean to trimming the bushes.
Camp operates between July 1 and August 17, 2018 (Sundays-Fridays) 9AM-8PM- we'll work with your availability but do require that shifts are 5 hours.

Description
For more than 100 years, Catholic Charities has continued its mission of building a just and compassionate society rooted in the dignity of all people.
As one of the largest providers of social services in Massachusetts, Catholic Charities offers approximately 90 programs and services in 23 locations from Lawrence to Brockton and throughout to Boston. More than 185,000 people are helped each year regardless of faith.
Our programs and services are provided in four major areas:
- As an anti-poverty agency, Catholic Charities responds to the needs of the poor and working poor in our communities. This is accomplished by providing or helping them access emergency food, fuel, utility, rental, and mortgage assistance.
- Catholic Charities provides a variety of support services for children and families in order to strengthen and preserve families and provide children and youth with the opportunities they deserve.
- Adult Education (ESOL) and workforce development programs prepare adult learners to take advantage of better employment opportunities to support their families
- With a variety of multicultural and multilingual services for immigrants and refugees, Catholic Charities is working to help these populations adjust to their new surroundings and become active participants in their communities.
Catholic Charities is a self-supporting, non-profit organization that relies on public, private, and United Way contributions.
