The new member of the Board of Trustees will have a specific task which will need particular experience and knowledge. In addition to regular trustee responsibilities the new trustee will be tasked with advising the board on fundraising activities beyond the areas in which the charity has been regularly successful.

Advice is needed on fundraising from, for example, individual donors, corporate donors, Livery companies and private trusts.

In addition this new trustee would have the task of convening Pan’s Development Committee, a group of professionals from various walks of life who serve voluntarily to increase networks, raise Pan’s profile and open new channels of funding.

The Trustees would expect this appointment to have considerable knowledge and experience of fundraising from the sources mentioned above, good networks of possible friends and donors to Pan, the ability to manage events which could aid the charity and an interest in the goals of its work.

Pan encourages applicants from all backgrounds and would welcome expressions of interest to the following address: j.martin@pan-arts.net

For more information about the charity’s activities please visit the website www.pan-arts.net

Please note we are based in London.

Mission Statement

Pan Intercultural Arts is a dynamic London-based arts company using intercultural performance work to help facilitate self-expression and promote deeper understanding of our changing cultural identities. We work with a diverse range of communities across London and internationally : empowering people to use the arts as a tool for change in their lives. Our participants include: Women who have survived trafficking into the UK Victims of torture and trauma-affected young refugees Unaccompanied minor asylum seekers Young people living close to crime and violence Those affected by natural disasters, conflict and social prejudice (overseas projects)

Description

Pan is an intercultural arts organisation dedicated to the exploration of cultural diversity through the arts and how such work can inspire and implement social change. This is achieved through workshops and performances with young people who are marginalised and at risk of social exclusion. Pan helps its participants find a voice through drama, dance, music, writing and film. We work with people from all cultures and religions to encourage a world where we respect and understand each others' lives, discovering the possibilities of our rich diversity.

We have developed a range of programmes to support the development, and unlock the potential, of those in need including a Refugee Arts Programme, an Arts Against Violence Programme and an International Theatre for Development Programme.
