Position Title: Social media and management Volunteer

Time period: 22nd - 26th May 2018
Location: Miami Marriott Dadeland Hotel


The International Alliance of Patients Organization is looking for a group of enthusiastic social media and
communications gurus to assist the Media and Communications Team at the upcoming Global Patients
Congress in Miami, USA from 22nd to 26th May 2018.
Hone your writing and/or social media skills and gain international experience at one of the biggest events on
the global health calendar.

About the 8th Global Patients Congress

The Congress is IAPO's flagship event where we bring together our global membership with a variety of high-level healthcare stakeholders to discuss important issues for patients worldwide. Congress brings together around 200 patient advocates from across the world. Organizations of all sizes share best practice, gain insight into pressing healthcare issues and meet with others passionate about patient-centered healthcare.

About the role

We are looking for volunteers to join the IAPO Communications team in Miami, USA to provide instrumental support in delivering the 2018 Global Patients Congress.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not necessarily limited to:
* Writing daily session reports and/or news articles related to the attended Congress sessions that will be published on www.iapo.org.uk
* Live-tweeting during Congress' sessions
* Taking onsite pictures to share on social media
* Welcoming delegates at the Congress sessions and exhibition area
* General support of the Media and Communications team as well as the larger IAPO team.
Candidate's profile
* Studying or experience in an area relevant to the job description e.g. communications, public health
* Strong interest in global public health issues
* Fluent in English - written and spoken
* Excellent writing skills including ability to synthesise information
* Social media savvy - Familiar with Twitter and Facebook
* Flexible, reliable and able to work autonomously
