Rainbow Community Center is need of front desk volunteers! At our Center, we are dedicated in helping our community by having a front desk service to help better connect clients with staff, general information, and greeting and ensuring our clients feel welcomed at our center. We are in need of those who are able to give their time, either long-term coverage, Summer coverage (May through August), and/or short-term (on-call or one month only).
Front desk coverage is from 1-6pm Monday through Friday.
Tasks may include: answering our phone, connect clients with information, light to moderate admin work (helping our office manager with various tasks like folding brochures, keeping advertisement table stocked, and ensuring our center is clean and stocked).
- For long term commitment, we are looking for help on Tuesday & Friday
- For short-term commitment: we are looking for help on Tuesday & Friday
- On-call: commitment is open to your schedule.

The Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County builds community and promotes well-being among Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTQ) people and our allies.
Description
The Rainbow Community Center is the only organization in Contra Costa County that is solely focused on serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community; our current priorities are to build services for LGBT youth, seniors, people living with HIV/AIDS and to develop community building efforts that will diminish the sense of isolation and promote greater acceptance of all LGBTQ people.
Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive and respectful environment for LGBTQ people of all ages, socio-economic status, races, cultures and religions. We strive to create services and activities that will promote the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of our community by providing professional services, peer support, referral services, social opportunities and educational programs of interest to our community as well as to the community at large.
