Sleep Safe Program

Sleep apnea is a serious breathing disorder that affects millions of Americans, and the medical equipment prescribed to treat sleep apnea is frequently not covered by insurance. In keeping with our mission, Breathe California offers the Sleep Safe program: we accept donations of gently used CPAP and BiPAP machines, sterilize and refurbish them, and provide them to community members who don't have the insurance coverage they need to purchase a new machine.

This program is largely powered by volunteers! We provide all the training and supplies you need to properly clean donated machines and help a neighbor sleep safely. This volunteer opportunity is great for all ages, and timing is flexible- you can volunteer any time from Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Please contact Alison@lungsrus.org prior to coming so we can prepare training and supplies for you.
