Equessense is a therapeutic horseback riding facility that offers experiential riding for individuals with special needs and we are hosting a summer day camps on Tuesdays and Fridays this summer starting on June 11th through August 9th. Our Tuesday sessions will be from 11:00-12:15 and the Friday camp will be from 9:30-1:00. The camps include on and off the horse activities that include snack, crafts, and science experiments. We have really fun lesson plans like horsey bubble bath and pirate week. We will train you in all aspects of horsemanship including horseback riding. I will also be happy to verify volunteer hours, write letters of recommendation and reference, as well as help with scholarship applications.

Our mission is to help meet the growing need for alternative therapies and inclusive recreational opportunities for people with disabilities at a nominal fee that would exclude on one who could benefit from our services.
Description
Equestrian therapy is widely recognized as a beneficial method of intervention for people with physical, mental, emotional, developmental or sensory deficits. Research has produced solid evidence that animal-assisted therapy in the form of a structured horse-back riding program not only reduces the manifestations of the rider's disability but enables him or her to gain valuable skills in other areas as well. Equessense offers individualized riding programs for every rider based on specific goals pertaining to that rider. For virtually every need that a rider might have, the horse offers a specific healing solution. Under the supervision of a trained facilitator the horse becomes a wise teacher, a sensitive therapist and a trusted friend.
