What is DogFest and Canine Companions for Independence? Founded in 1975, Canine Companions for Independence is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing expertly-trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. DogFest is a dog- and family-friendly fundraising walk and festival to support Canine Companions! DogFest San Diego will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Waterfront Park in San Diego. Please visit www.canine.org/DogFestSanDiego for more information. This year will feature a beer tasting garden and food trucks. If you are certified to serve alcohol, please let us know!
We have many types of volunteer opportunities for DogFest and many different "shifts" for volunteers to work. We are looking for individual volunteers as well as Service Club volunteers! If you are a returning volunteer for this year's DogFest and have a previous year's DogFest t-shirt, please let us know. You can even sign up as a volunteer and also put a team together and walk in DogFest, or enjoy DogFest with us before or after the volunteer shift you signup for! You are, of course, welcome to sign up for more than 1 volunteer shift if you would like!

You will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator, Gwen, after submitting your volunteer inquiry and a Schedule of shifts will be released as we near October.

Get ready to have a tail waggin' good time!
