If you have a heart to comfort a person on their final journey through life please consider becoming a hospice volunteer.
Being a hospice volunteer could involve sitting and talking/listening to someone revisit their finer days of life celebrating the memories of times past.
It could be reading from the bible, scriptures that are meaningful to someone that has lost clarity of sight and can no longer read on their own.
Or, simply sitting at the bedside while a person sleeps comfortably knowing someone who cares is present.
There are many things that a volunteer can do to bring joy and comfort to someone and their family during this time in their lives.

Mission Statement

Mission Statement For each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quanity of days, and supports caregivers as their heart find healing.

Description

Hospice Volunteers provide companionship to our patients and their families. They may visit with patients, read, sing or watch movies with patients. Hospice volunteers find it personally gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful to assist those in need at a critical point in their lives. Many of our volunteers are introduced to hospice thorough the death of a family member and understand firsthand the value of hospice care, but nearly 20% of volunteers are new to hospice. Volunteers consistently report that helping the terminally ill through hospice is not about dying but about living.
