For this particular event, we will need barn volunteers. These volunteers manage the gates in the animal pens, ensuring the safety of both the animals and the patrons. Volunteers must be comfortable interacting with the public and with animals. We have many species of animals including: chickens, pigs, goats, cows, sheep, donkeys, ponies, ducks, geese and rabbits. Additionally, we will need volunteers that are interested in leading an activity with children. Whether it be coloring, planting a seed, holding the clue to a scavenger hunt, there will be opportunities that don't directly involve handling the animals. This event has an environmental focus, aimed towards teaching children about being environmentally conscience and nature-focused. Youth volunteers must be 13 years old in order to volunteer without an adult. Youth under 13 years of age are required to have an adult volunteer alongside them. Everyone will do at least a 1-hour training with myself and depending on what you are interested in helping with, we can go from there. Training sessions will be available every Saturday and Sunday from 4pm-5pm. You must sign up for training in advance. Sign-up can be done through me and is as simple as a confirmation of which day you are interested in attending. Everyone will receive an information manual to read and study after we meet.

Mission Statement
The Center’s mission is to give people of all faiths, backgrounds, and ages the space to dream, grow, and become fully alive--physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Our goal is to connect people, animals and nature.
Description
The Children's Farm at The Center offers a rare and wonderful learning place where kids experience farm animals of all types, how they live, what they eat, how they feel and sound. Here, chickens lay eggs, sheep grow wool, cows give milk and horses eat hay harvested right from our fields. At the same time, children see crops grow and begin to understand the importance of farms and farmers to their own survival. Imagine - milk doesn’t have its origins in a cardboard or plastic carton! We offer a host of enriching farm programs, where children can handle the animals and experience the life of the farm.
