LGBTQ+ San Diego

Volunteers play an integral role in fulfilling the San Diego History Center’s mission. Through their contributions of time, talents, and energy, volunteers provide support to all aspects of the organization’s operations and bring to life the history of San Diego for thousands of visitors each year.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team during the run of our exhibition LGBTQ+ San Diego: Stories of Struggles & Triumphs. Connect with like-minded individuals and meet new people, gain knowledge, and help tell the story of our community.

We are currently recruiting volunteers for the roles of Gallery Guide in that exhibition space and Programs/Events Assistants for exhibition-related programming. Scheduling is flexible. To find out more about these roles, please visit www.sandiegohistory.org.

The San Diego History Center, in partnership with the Lambda Archives, brings the first exhibition EVER in
Balboa Park, focused on San Diego’s LGBTQ+ community. Titled LGBTQ+ San Diego: Stories of Struggles and Triumphs this will be the History Center’s major exhibition of 2018 and will run to January 2020 with an estimated 250,000 visitors.
