1039 Bladensburg Rd NEWashington, DC 20002

Are you a man of color born and raised in DC? Are you interested in a being a mentor and friend to young men and boys? You may be a perfect fit for Friendship Place's Brother to Brother program.

Friendship Place’s Brother to Brother program is designed to empower participants to mature into hopeful, responsible and contributing adults. The youth we seek to help have grown up in homelessness- in the DC General Shelter, tent cities, cars, and hotel rooms. Fortunately, their families have left homelessness for housing through a Friendship Place Program - Neighbors First - funded by the DC Government. The objective of Friendship Place’s Brother to Brother Program is to provide those they serve with positive adult male role models and a safe space where they can support and learn from each other, help them develop positive peer friendships, and expose them to cultural and educational experiences that they would not otherwise have access to.

Brother to Brother Program Mentors will build relationship with youth and help facilitate workshops. The volunteer will need to commit 1- 2 hours on a Saturday each month for a minimum of 6 months to 1 year. Volunteers are welcome to be involved in the planning process if they are interested and available to commit additional time. Volunteers who are unable to commit the minimum time requirement may get involved in one-time workshops. Please get in touch with Anne Marie Buron at or at 202-248-3090 to discuss the details. Thank you!
