We are seeking volunteers to help the City of Barberton clean-up and help out a low-income neighborhood, South Barberton.

Our goals are to:
1) improve the safety and appearance of the neighborhood (everything from clearing out large branches to picking up litter to helping someone with simple things around their house)
2) create and promote the South Barberton neighborhood (promote this event on social media as well as show people how beautiful the neighborhood is)
3) improve the quality of life for Barberton residents living in South Barberton

You can help by coming and lending a hand to this initiative!

Mission Statement

The City of Barberton’s mission is to strengthen our neighborhoods, deliver superior services, provide excellent programs and facilitate economic opportunity to enhance the quality of life for all of our residents. "Barberton Forward, Neighborhoods First"

Description

Since Barberton's founding in 1891 by noted industrialist Ohio Columbus Barber, Barberton has been an innovative community in industry and new technology. Barber's Diamond Match company was a leading producer of wooden matches in 1891. Later, Barber developed an elaborate farm complex made up of some 40 brick barns and 400 acres, giving the nation one of the first agracorps and experimental farms.

This spirit of innovation continues to thrive in Barberton today.

When you visit Barberton, you will find many exciting and interesting opportunities. During the summer, music fills the evening air at the Gazebo at Lake Anna with free concerts. We have some of the best festivals in Summit County; the Cherry Blossom Festival is in early May, followed by the Arts and Crafts Festival in July, the Labor Day Festival, as well as the Mum Festival, in September.

The Mayor's Barberton Forward; Neighborhoods First Initiative is to improve safety and appearance of our neighborhoods, create and promote Barberton neighborhoods, and improve the quality of life for Barberton residents.
