Colorado Farm to Table, a non-profit farm located in Salida, Co, is offering a summer volunteer internship position to a motivated individual interested in continuing their education and agricultural experience. Farm to Table operates on 15 acres and raises acorn squash, sweet corn, broccoli, cabbage, and summer squash. All produce grown by Farm to Table is donated to help serve those in need throughout the state of Colorado.

The internship position offers a qualified candidate the opportunity to participate in a variety of hands-on tasks to deal with the unique challenges of a high-altitude growing season. The candidate will learn and gain experience in operating gated pipe irrigation, working with employees and volunteers to cultivate and weed crops, participating in basic equipment procedures, and will gain experience in planning and coordinating tasks related to particular stages of the crop life cycle until the eventual harvest. Because of the varied and extensive nature of the tasks required, agricultural experience or an educational background in agriculture is preferred although other motivated candidates may be considered. Candidates must be reliable, punctual, self- motivated, and receptive to instruction. Colorado Farm to Table is located in Salida, Co. Salida is a thriving mountain town located at an elevation of 7200 ft in central Colorado. The Arkansas River flows through town, and it is well known for its many outdoor opportunities including rafting, biking, hiking, and fishing. Salida is especially beautiful in the summer season, and the town is bustling with many weekly community events from musical acts to art festivals.
