The goal of Go Girls! is to provide grades 5/6 girls with information and support to make informed choices about healthy, active living while maintaining sensitivity toward the emotional, social and cultural issues they may face. Specifically, the project addresses the issues of physical activity, balanced eating and positive self-image for youth participants.

We ask that the volunteer commits to the full 10 week program as our students rely on your commitment to their success! The volunteer responsibilities would include: making the weekly commitment, being a supportive and active listener, following the school and agency guidelines, ensuring child safety, and, of course, having fun!
* Screening includes 2 references, Police Check, 30 Minute interview and training, no special skills required

Description
The Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area (BGCBigs) is a charitable non-profit organization working to provide safe places and positive mentoring relationships for children & youth in our community. We are the amalgamation of two internationally recognized child serving organizations; Boys & Girls Clubs and Big Brothers Big Sisters. By combining the concepts of both, BGCBigs delivers programs that address the physical, emotional, academic and overall wellness of children and youth.
