ORGANIZATION: Archway Communities

  • 5 people are interested

Archway Housing and Services is a nonprofit company that builds and manages affordable housing communities for low-income families. We also offer free, on-site social services to all of our residents, including youth programing, adult educational classes, and a twice weekly food bank.

We are currently looking for a Women's Fitness Instructor to teach around 5 adult women in group fitness at our East Denver location at Mississippi and Parker Rd. The ladies are interested in everything from Zumba, to aerobics, to weight lifting. The right person for this position would be interested in working with beginners and would be comfortable working with people from other cultures. Most of the families who live at Arapahoe Green are immigrants from a variety of African countries. Ideally the class would be held for 1 hour a week, Monday - Friday, between 9:00 am - noon, or after 4:00pm. The ladies said their best time is on Thursdays at 11:00 am, but that is flexible.

Archway is a wonderful organization committed to helping the most needy in our communities! Please consider donating your time and talent to helping low-income ladies get in shape and improve their health through fitness classes! Thank you for your consideration.

Mission Statement

Archway Communities elevates lives by providing access to affordable housing, food security and the supportive social services people need to thrive.

Description

Archway Communities was founded with the belief that affordable housing is a crucial element in building healthy communities. In pursuit of that belief, we seek opportunities to purchase vacant land for new construction or renovate obsolete multifamily developments. Shortly after we were founded, we began to recognize that residents need more than affordable housing to stabilize their lives - many were struggling with challenges like food insecurity, recovering from chronic homelessness, unemployment, single parenting, obtaining citizenship, and others. Archway Communities instituted the Supportive Services Program- resident focused, on-site programming- to address the needs of those living in our communities beyond simply providing a roof over their heads.
