We love volunteers at Historic Dumfries Virginia and rely on them to lead tours, staff educational programs, help with special events, conduct historical research, write for our newsletter, inventory our collections, maintain our gardens, maintain gift shop displays, keep things running smoothly behind-the-scenes, and more! Interested in volunteering? Our staff will help you find the right volunteer position for your schedule, interests, and personality. Whether you can volunteer weekly, monthly, or only once in a while and whether you prefer to be the center of attention or behind-the-scenes, we have volunteer opportunities for you. We love our volunteers and work to provide a fun, social environment that promotes the building of new skills and knowledge for youth, adult, and senior volunteers. We particularly need volunteers to give tours of the museum (Tour hours: Thursday-Monday 11am-4pm) and are also looking for volunteers who are fluent in Spanish and would like to give Spanish language tours of the museum.
