Organization Overview:
ICA (Intercongregation Communities Association) Food Shelf supports neighbors in need through food distribution, financial assistance and employment assistance. Our clients are our neighbors struggling to make ends meet - many work, yet do not make enough money to cover the basic needs of their families. ICA serves the communities of Hopkins, Minnetonka, Excelsior, Greenwood, Deephaven, Shorewood and Woodland.
ICA was established after a group of local churches saw a need in our community in the fall of 1970. Today ICA is supported by over 100 business partners, many civic organizations, two school districts, fraternal organizations, and 36 partner congregations in addition to the many individuals who give to ICA through donations and volunteerism.
Special Events & Development Internship Overview:
ICA Food Shelf offers this internship at the Excelsior Farmers Market, in downtown Excelsior, and at its main office (12990 St. Davids Rd. Minnetonka, MN 55305). This program is designed to provide students and recent graduates with an opportunity to learn about the operations of a nonprofit organization and a local farmers market, including communications and community relations aspects.
