ORGANIZATION: Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta

Volunteer with Girl Scouts in Atlanta

Be a Girl Scout Troop Co-Leader to give girls a safe place to discover their wow, connect with friends for a lifetime, and take action to make the world a better place for themselves and others. You would work in partnership with like-minded adults to support a troop of girls by;

  • Delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in an age-appropriate way, using the Girl Scout National Leadership Portfolio

  • Attending and conducting troop meetings (Once or twice a month for 2 hours)

  • Communicating with troop parents and coordinating their contributions to the troop’s success

Picture it, use your passion to generate a girls interest and curiosity in the world around her. By rallying with other adults you will have the opportunity to hone your own skills in organizing, providing resources, and creating opportunities for girls to grow.

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is also here to support you every step of the way. We can walk you through how to get started and guide you to great trainings so you will be prepared in your role.

Mission Statement

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.

Description

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
