Purpose

Help manage vehicle registrations, assignment processes, and maintenance to ensure fully operational and deployable regional fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage vehicle and trailer maintenance and repairs
• Facilitate registrations and licensing in coordination with Element, our fleet management vendor, to ensure 100% current registration (lead)
• Meet Red Cross and DOT fleet policies and standards
• Engage in identifying vehicles for repair, disposal, or replacement at the direction of the Regional CAO
• Onboard, direct and assist fleet volunteers to perform work throughout the region, including addressing routine maintenance as well as repairs at the approved vendor (lead)
• Advise regional Operations team of process improvements needed; suggest improvements to regional fleet (lead)

Time Commitment

• Preferred commitment of 4-8 hours per week. Flexible scheduling available. Shifts would be available Monday-Friday between 8am - 4:30pm. Schedule to be determined by volunteer and fleet coordinator.

Qualifications

• Current driver's license a must
• Must be able to clear a Motor Vehicle check
• Knowledge of DOT (Dept. of Transportation) a plus, but not required
• Ability to work with a range of staff members and volunteers throughout the state
• Logistical skills a plus
• Attention to detail and deadlines
• Knowledge of vehicles and light mechanics a plus

Training

• DOT (Dept. of Transportation) policies may be required at a later date
• Vehicle registration processes

Relationships

• Regional Chief Administrative Officer; Facilities Manager; Ops/Admin team; facilities, fleet, and logistics volunteers throughout the region

Length of Appointment

• Minimum 6 month commitment preferred.
