Volunteers address minor home repair needs that have a focus on health and safety of older adults and people experiencing disability. Minor home repair volunteers may address issues such as installing weatherization strips, replacing light bulbs, fixing steps and railings, and other light carpentry, plumbing, and electrical issues.
This is a very flexible opportunity. Services are provided when requested by eligible program participants.

Mission Statement

Description
Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) volunteers serve in various capacities, depending on their areas of interest and abilities. Volunteers participate in on-going opportunities in one of three focus areas: helping children succeed, strengthening families and their connections to the community, and helping older adults and persons with disabilities live independently.
