Mission Statement

Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts exists to provide educational experiences in visual, performing, and literary arts for adults and children; cultivate the creativity that thrives in our rural community; rehabilitate and preserve our historic buildings and rustic campus.

Description

Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts is a nonprofit arts education center founded in 2004 by local artists and community members in the historic heart of Mineral Point, "where Wisconsin began." Nearly 200 arts and crafts workshops for youth and adults and a variety of cultural events in many disciplines take place at our 2.5-acre complex of historic buildings, in the adjacent mid-20th century modern Lind Pavilion, and at nearby studios. Proceeds from our workshops, events, and lodging in our charming guest rooms and suites supports our educational programming and the historic preservation of our campus.
