A passion for history and loves to organize, would be the ideal candidate. The volunteer will help in the archive with organizing and sorting historical material. Reading, writing and organizational skills essential. No experience necessary. A few hours a week Monday through Thursday. The ERHS collects and preserves historical church records from the German Reformed Church. and currently contains records from over 800 churches and 400 manuscript collections. Records are used by genealogists and researchers. Limited contact with people so social distancing is not a problem!

Mission Statement

The purpose of the society is: • to collect, organize, preserve, and make accessible the records, history and heritage of the Reformed Church in the United States, the Evangelical Synod of North America, and the Evangelical and Reformed Church; • to cooperate with other religious and academic organizations for the cultivation and preservation of church history.


The ERHS collection includes the denominational records of the Reformed Church (1725-1934) and the Evangelical and Reformed Church (1934-1962), their boards, commissions, committees, regional synods, and area classes.
