Summer Volunteer Work for Social Work Students

Volunteer with Caris Healthcare of Nashville! Our local hospice company services both Davidson and Williamson County. We are currently seeking undergraduate students in social work programs that are interested in learning about working in the healthcare field through administrative tasks and patient interactions. These volunteers will have set (flexible) hour 3-5 days per week. (Start and end date also flexible)
Volunteers will:
-Provide support to hospice staff (Social worker, Chaplain, Volunteer Coordinator, and Clinical Team)
-Learn processes that social workers implement with patients under hospice care
-Train to provide bereavement support
-Assist Grief Support Groups
-Interact with patients and their family on a regular basis through phone calls or in person interactions
-Provide companionship to patients
-Work on compiling resources for family service team
Volunteer coordinator is happy to work with schools to turn volunteer hours into internship hours for credit. Please respond for more details.

Description
