Volunteers NEEDED for quality time with Hospice Patients,FOR any of the following companship visits, read, play games, run errands, bake cakes, send cards, relieve care givers, check in CALLS, animal therapy, music therapy, ECT. Volunteers need to be within 70 miles of Roanoke.

Description
Hospice provides support and care for persons in the last phases of incurable disease so they may live as fully and as comfortable as possible. Hospice recognizes dying as a part of the normal process of living and focuses on maintaining the quality of remaining life. Hospice affirms life, and neither hastens nor postpones death. Hospice focuses on caring, not curing and in most cases care is provided in the patients home, which enables families to stay together in peace, comfort and dignity.
