There are multiple areas in which a community member can volunteer at Meritus. Our volunteers represent a diverse collection of people from different cultural backgrounds and ages. Areas to serve with in include our: Ambulatory Services, Diabetes Program, Emergency Room Greeters and Assistance, Information Assistance, Cancer Center, Fundraising, Messenger Services, Gift Shop Attendant, Clerical Support, Nursing Unit Support, Animal Therapy,Rehab and Joint Center Assistance, and Many More.
As a volunteer, you will be helping patients and their families to feel better and have the best possible experience while at the hospital. The chance to volunteer at a hospital can be life changing- for you and those you serve. Your experience, compassion and kindness will not be wasted here, and the friendships you will develop are incredible!

Mission Statement
Meritus Medical Center Auxiliary supports Meritus Health through various services and fundraisers to improve the health status of our region by providing comprehensive health services to patients and families.
Description
Meritus Medical Center Auxiliary( MMCA) offers many wonderful opportunities to give back to the most vulnerable in your community, meet new friends, and stay engaged with current events. With close to 400 Auxilians, MMCA has been serving alongside Washington County Hospital and now Meritus Heath for more than 60 years. Areas where our volunteers serve include the Information Desk, Emergency Room, Nursery, Thrift Store, Gift Shop, and Surgical Center. The Auxiliary also spends time each year with fundraising for various causes, such as scholarships for students entering the medical field, procuring medical equipment ans supplies for the hospital's pediatric department, cancer center and all patients that the hospital serves. The Auxiliary has given countless hours and funds to the local community, all in the noble cause of dedicating itself to supporting the Hospital's mission and vision of improving the lives of our community members.
