Hope’s Crossing is uniquely dedicated to helping women become successful following experiences with incarceration or other life changing experiences. Our focus is on serving each woman’s unique needs with a comprehensive approach to helping her create a new, healthy and fulfilling chapter in her life and in the lives of her family.

Community Engagement Volunteer will assist in the community outreach promoting the programs and services, recruitment of volunteers to support our mission, and the design and production of materials that celebrate our program outcomes and promote success with the individuals we serve. Working independently or within the program team, Community Engagement Volunteer will provide support to the Program Team in preparing for weekly classes, follow up with client needs and providing marketing materials to community agencies interested in learning more about the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of organization involvement in community events along with developing volunteer recruitment materials
  • Identify and connect with community based agencies to foster collaborative relationships for client referrals
  • Maintain and add to Community Agency List by connecting with new or existing agencies within Maricopa County
  • Prepare resource materials for and/or attend community expo's, resource fair's, volunteer engagement meetings and collaborative community meetings
  • Create and maintain office procedures that support life skills programs, clothing distribution and first level client engagement

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must have strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be organized, professional, energetic and detail oriented.
  • Experience engaging with community members at all levels, coordinating with internal and external team.
  • Ability to gather , understand, and synthesize information from a variety of sources and use to develop outreach materials.
  • Skills in creating newsletters, social media communications and the concepts of creating professional reports.
  • Field experience or class project experience in areas of communications or marketing demonstrating marketing, press release, newsletters or program promotions.
  • Must have experience with computer applications, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Media Applications

With the support of a skilled case manager and a dedicated mentor, she will have all the tools needed to fulfill her journey of becoming whole and healthy. Life skills classes are designed to address the key issues facing women in a period of transition. Assistance and resources are provided free of cost to find safe housing and successful re-entry into the workforce. Our organization is filled with passionate women who create the safe environment needed for our clients to grow and reach their fullest potential.
