Help us create community green space under the power lines in the Duwamish River Valley. The Greenline is a partnership between Alleycat Acres, The Common Acre, and Seattle City Light. This restoration project works to increase pollinator habitat, create interactive green space, and grow native berries for our neighborhood. We've studied bees in this area for over three years, built soil and removed invasive species for two years, and now we are ready for sheet mulching, soil building, and weeding.
Join us for a fun day of planting to learn about native plants and pollinators. Come as you are, all ages and abilities are welcome. We'll provide all the tools and gloves, and bring along some delicious hot food and beverages. Family friendly!

About Alleycat Acres
Location:
309 Pontius Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109, US
Mission Statement
Alleycat Acres reconnects people, place, and produce by transforming underutilized space into a network of neighborhood run farms.
Description
In other words, we make farms happen. Food is more than what we eat: it’s a medium through which we can forge intimate, meaningful relationships between people and place. Farming is a medium that reconnects us, both mentally and physically, to our surroundings. Our entire operation is based on the collective belief that urban food systems are key in creating healthy communities.
Our produce is distributed between our volunteers who worked for the day and a network of agency partners including Food Banks, Supportive Housing, Shelters, and Recovery service providers. Join us at one of our weekly work parties at any of our four farms. All ages and abilities are welcome - our farm coordinators will be on site to walk you through tasks and teach you everything they know about urban gardening!
