FUTURE TALENT OF SILICON VALLEY dba First Tee - Silicon Valley
The location is listed as Virtual, but you should be in Silicon Valley to serve.
The First Tee of Silicon Valley is searching for five (5) Board Ambassadors to join our existing eight (8) Ambassadors and nine (9) Board Directors. Do you have a passion for golf and youth development? Joining our non-profit organization will allow you to impact the lives of youth in a unique way. It is "More than a Game" our program provides 9 Core Values, 9 Healthy Habits and Life Skills through the game of golf. Fundraising is our top priority as we grow our financial aid program for the under-served, high-risk youth in our community to have affordable access.
The First Tee of Silicon Valley’s Board Ambassadors give advice, assist with projects, represent the organization in the community and at events, help raise funds and expand TFTSV’s network throughout Silicon Valley. Ambassadors actively participate on one core committee and one event committee.
TFTSV’s Ambassadors should represent the diverse interests, needs and concerns of the constituency it serves and the underserved communities that are the future of the game of golf. Diversity embodies all the differences - life and work experiences, cultures, ethnicity, gender, age and other relevant aspects - that make us unique people and that maximize the creativity and resources to fulfill its mission.
About FUTURE TALENT OF SILICON VALLEY dba First Tee - Silicon Valley
1922 THE ALAMEDA STE 214, SAN JOSE, CA 95126, US
Our purpose is to develop youth throughout Silicon Valley, transforming their lives and giving them a brighter future. This coincides with The First Tee’s mission to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
Our programs fall into one of three categories - Classes, Outreach and Opportunities. Classes are at the heart of our approach with seven levels of positive, developmentally appropriate life skills curriculum that youth are encouraged to experience from 1st through 12th grade. The Outreach program, DRIVE, is very activity-based and modeled after the same life skills curriculum as classes and is delivered by educators both in- and after-school. Finally, Opportunities afford participants a wide variety of life and golf experiences and financial and other resources for their long-term success. Learn more on our Youth Programs page.
In 2016, we served over 1,200 youth on the golf course and introduced the sport of golf to over 6,000 youth at schools and community events. Our programs have reached over 55,000 young people since 2005.
