Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet patients, family members and visitors in a positive and caring manner
Offer support in calm and comforting manner as appropriate to the situation and/or individual
Acknowledge everybody with eye contact when they are within 10 feet. Verbally greet them when they are within 5 feet.
Provide information to visitors, patients, and staff as needed
Review communication book to stay informed of current procedures and information
Use computer
Order magazines online for the hospital
Look up patient room numbers
Direct people
Answer telephone
Ensure entrances remain clean and clear of safety hazards
Provide clear directions to patients and visitors
Wipe down monitors, phones and keyboards
Successfully complete annual education (examples include Blood Borne Pathogen, Fire and Emergency Response, etc)
